Is pandora a good source of classical music? in your experience has the community of pandora developed a reliable database that distinguishes stylistically between composers or is it kind of a uniform mass of all classical music just kind of lumped together?

With both classical and jazz. A Schubert playlist is not a Tchaikovsky playlist by a long shot. Jazz sticks to its era or style too.
