I was turned off by Love in the Time of Cholera, to be honest.
Should I give Márquez a second shot?

well I think that 100 Years is pretty awesome, but then again I thought that about Cholera too, so you probably shouldn't listen to me, so now I'm wondering why I'm typing this

I didn't like Love in the Time of Cholera either!!! granted, I just saw the movie. But I don't like movies/books about aristocrats and their clothes. One Hundred Years of Solitude was brilliant, one of the best books I've ever read. Please read it.

I didn't see the movie; I read the book over the course of a surreal two-week vacation in Montreal. It was mind-numbing (the book, not the trip). I wonder if I would've liked it better if I could have read it in Spanish.

I've just started a second go-round on Ulysses (not sure I could handle both at once), but One Hundred Years just moved up my list a notch.

I haven't read it, but I probably will eventually.
I get around to reading everything eventually

Oh please get past chapter three of Ulysses. It switches from the mind of Stephen Dedalus (a cryptic genius) to Leopold Bloom (a common man - easier to understand) and most people just never make it past the first three. It's my favorite book, and if I can read it, anyone can. It's worth it!

(If that was to me)
I'm on my second go-round, as in this will be my second time through the book in entirety. I can understand why it's a favorite.

Oh, ok. That's wonderful.
