No. I have MORE respect for men who show their emotions. It's okay to cry when you've been hurt or something goes wrong. I have less respect for men who cover up their emotions by acting all macho.

.

More.

17 yrs ago - Sunday 11/21/04 - 12:08:17 PM EST (GMT-5)
No of course I dont.
I respect a man if he can show his emotions.
I mean emotions are perfectly healthy.
Everyone has them.
17 yrs ago - Sunday 11/21/04 - 12:09:01 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yes. Men are supposed to be tough. Men who cry are wimps. It's not cool for a man to cry.
17 yrs ago - Sunday 11/21/04 - 9:24:37 PM EST (GMT-5)
I have more respect for men who show their emotions, within reason. Guys who cry all the time for no reason have mental problems.
17 yrs ago - Sunday 11/21/04 - 9:29:29 PM EST (GMT-5)
If it's emotion for a mortifying public incident, or the loss of a loved one, I'd respect them. If they cry because they can't do something or someone is being mean to them, I would give a little less respect, but I would want to help them overcome a problem like that.
17 yrs ago - Sunday 11/21/04 - 9:35:33 PM EST (GMT-5)
men should cry more !

More, because they are man enough to stand against stereotypes and show what they truly feel. Like Mark McGuire
17 yrs ago - Monday 11/22/04 - 2:29:35 AM EST (GMT-5)
Being one myself, no. It's a lot more healthy than keeping everything bottled up inside, then snapping one day and going into work and shooting everyone else in the office.

I love all these women who SAY they would respect a man more. I sooooo doubt it. It's a like a woman who says she'd like a man to be honest with her. How many women are going home with a guy that says "Hey, you look like you're desperate enough to go home with even me. How about you have sex with me for the price of a drink or two?". None, that's how many. But just about every guy that's ever picked up a girl in a club is basically saying that, only much nicer. It all sounds well and good, but if a guy started crying in front of you because his best friend was run over by a semi right in front of him, you'd be nice, you'd comfort him, even be his friend, but very very few of you would really want to date him.

Nice that a man can speak for a woman isn't it, dacash? Well, I wouldn't respect a man more or less if he showed his emotions; that's just part of his personality. If anyone, man or woman, cries over everything and nothing, though, then something is wrong.
17 yrs ago - Monday 11/22/04 - 9:07:37 AM EST (GMT-5)
I respect people more if they can show emotions.
17 yrs ago - Monday 11/22/04 - 10:14:02 AM EST (GMT-5)
I love it when a man crys when he is moved by the sheer beauty of something. That is so hot.
17 yrs ago - Monday 11/22/04 - 3:23:19 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yes.
Be a man, dammit.
Our news reporter was showing how men are going to spas to get facials and poo.
Um..Guys? BE A MAN!
17 yrs ago - Monday 11/22/04 - 8:07:56 PM EST (GMT-5)
Quite the opposite. I have less respect for men who don't show their emotions to me, granted that we're close.
17 yrs ago - Monday 11/22/04 - 8:09:42 PM EST (GMT-5)
I think they are losers
17 yrs ago - Wednesday 11/24/04 - 1:16:46 AM EST (GMT-5)
It really depends, if it is some guy I hate (I have a good reason to hate all the guys I do hate) then I will piss myself laughing at them and call them sissies.

If it is a guy I am friends with then it is a whole different story... Because I don't hate them!

17 yrs ago - Wednesday 11/24/04 - 2:07:30 AM EST (GMT-5)
I have a billion times more respect for them.
I don't like being around guys who can't show their emotions. Those types of guys are the true losers.
17 yrs ago - Wednesday 11/24/04 - 2:38:53 AM EST (GMT-5)
I like it when guys cry...I feel like they trust me enough to show their true emotions.
16 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Sunday 11/28/04 - 10:37:26 PM EST (GMT-5)
Less respect for a man that goes against social norms and is himself and does what a healthy person should do? I think not. That was a stupid question. Being a MAN is simply a bullsh*t social rule that restrict people from being themselves.
16 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Sunday 11/28/04 - 10:52:03 PM EST (GMT-5)
I respect anyone more so if they cry, male or female. I know people (both genders) who hide their emotions and I think it's sad that they feel they have to be such a stone wall all the time and bottle things up. I personally show all of my emotions even though my father taught me not to cry and that crying was basically a weakness. Now I just cry to everyone else and not him
16 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Sunday 1/9/05 - 2:23:03 PM EST (GMT-5)
my best guy friend cried when we thought i was moving to virginia. i luv him just for showing everyone how much i meant to him. then he cried when i came back to school because he was so happy. i respect him for it.
16 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Sunday 1/9/05 - 2:30:42 PM EST (GMT-5)
Whenever I see a guy crying, I start crying too. It's like a chain reaction. It happens a lot, especially in my line of work, when I have to cope with my clients (they cry every now and then). Its so hard to hold back the tears, but I've got to do it if I want to keep my job.
16 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Friday 1/14/05 - 7:37:07 AM EST (GMT-5)
Not at all. Sometimes it’s a good thing to show your sensitive side. This goes for men and women both. But there are times when people can be too emotional, I think.
16 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Friday 1/14/05 - 4:17:59 PM EST (GMT-5)
yes, definately.men should be men .they should be strong of coarse there are exceptions.but they shouldnt talk about there feelings all the time like a whiney little girl.its great when its appropriate.
