I'd have to stick with the classics and say the x-men. They have been around to long to get beat up by some wanna be reporter.

Can Spider-Man stop adamantium claws ripping his throat out?
Or an optic blast?
Or having his mind wiped?
Or his head teleported from his body?
Or something exploding in him?
Or being phased into a solid object then allowed to resolidify?
He'd only stand a chance against Angel, although I'm guessing a drop from a terrific height might do him in.

And how the hell is my question about Justice League vs. X-Men too narrow? F-ing mods.

Spiderman is older than x-men, isn't he?
TK: Spiderman can tie people up in his web, and he can also dodge almost any attack with his spidey-sense.

Not really. He wasn't born with the X-gene like the X-men.

Bah, Batman could kick anyone's hind parts.. But spidey would beat the x-men.. What kind of name is that? Were they all men at one point and are now women? But w/ Spidey's Spider-Sense, he could easily dodge the attacks of the X-Men, and then tie them up w/ his web.. THen again, the X-Men largely out number Spidey.. Batman wins by a longshot.

And any telepath would screw up Spidey's spider sense.

I think I'm a little prejudiced on this question because I just saw X2 and completely loved it. Spider-Man is cool, but I gotta give it to the X-Men.

Quantifier ambiguity! Does this question mean "no matter what X-Man you threw at him, could Spider-Man defeat him?" or does it mean "is there any X-Man such that Spider-Man could defeat him?"
It's a very important distinction... to what does the universal quantifier apply?

Silly me, I thought the question was straight-forward and simple to answer. But then, I use my brain.
Look, I love Spider-Man, but almost any X-Man is going to be able to cream him. Whoo. Spidey has webs. Wolverine has an adamantium skeleton AND a healing factor (he has the adamantium back, right?). Wolvy would slice through the webs. And the webs are water-soluble (otherwise New York would look like a tarantula's nest by now), so Storm could summon a bit of rain and take away that advantage. And Iceman could freeze him into a block, rendering everything inactive.
And, for having Spidey sense, it sure doesn't seem to help him when he's fighting his own bad guys, let alone the X-Men.

spiderman does have super strength though so he could escape if iceman tried to freeze him, i think i remember that spiderman whooped on the juggernaut though, so it might be hard for a single x-man to beat him, but i think professor x, wolverine, phoenix, gambit, rogue, colosus or storm can take him out though.

Not all the X-Men could beat him. I can see him beating Jubilee up like nothing.

PSHHHH no contest, X-Men would win ultimately! Spiderman is a wimp compared to almost every one of them.

Indeed dodging is awesome because there's no armour like just not getting hit. Further, the mutants all have just one extra ability but Spiderman has several. And indeed experience...never underestimate experience
