The atmosphere probably was even better in the cinema - but as I said before - the atmosphere is really something I loved from the film and I could completely get a sense from it even just watching a DVD on my laptop - and that says a lot about the atmosphere. It's good when you can still get that on a small screen.

OK, watched this again and really paid attention this time. It helped that I was watching it alone. I think I figured out how the guy's killing methods related to the victims' deadly sins:

Gluttony: Pretty obvious. The guy was a glutton and so the killer murdered him by forcing food down his throat so much that the guy died.

Greed: The lawyer is so money hungry that he probably nickle and dimes people to death, financially bleeding them dry. Therefore, the killer physically bled the lawyer dry.

Sloth: The guy is apparently so lazy he won't even get off his lazy bum-bum and try to find a job. Probably has people do his shopping for him and is on welfare, living off taxpayer dollars. The killer makes him stay in bed until he wastes away to nothing, laying in his own excrements, hence the million and one car fresheners on the ceiling.

Lust: Again, obvious. The prostitute wants sex and wants money for it and the guy wants sex so bad that he's willing to pay for it. Instead of killing both of them himself, he forces the guy to kill the prostitute by putting the knife on his genitals and killing her.

Pride: The woman takes such pride in her appreance she is willing to do anything to make sure she looks good. The killer puts her to sleep and cuts off her nose to spite her face.

For Envy and Anger: The killer did not kill anyone but wanted to die because Envy was his own sin. He was Envious of Detective Mills' married life. So he kills his Mrs. Mills, has her head shipped to the field they are in (I believe someone asked what was in the box. That's what it was) so that Mills would be so angry that he would kill the killer. So, all in all, seven people died. One for each deadly sin.

I remember they where playing this movie at a restaurant. Applebee's or TGIF or one of them with the TVs and the bars. I think the gluttony scene was about to show while I was there.

I haven't seen the whole thing yet, but bits and pieces.

You know what? If you have a history of not liking the comments I post, THEN DON'T READ MY F*CKING POSTS!!!!!! Buddy invented the spoiler feature for a reason. If you don't want to see what I posted THEN DON'T F*CKING CLICK ON IT!!!!!!! Know what I do when I don't want to read someone's posts? I DON'T!!!!!

I had a very difficult time figuring this movie out the first time. Maybe I still don't even have it figured out yet. But I understood it a lot better after seeing it the second time than I did the first time because I wasn't as distracted.

just so you know, most people have no problem figuring out how the deadly sins relate to the method of killing, mostly because the movie flat out tells you how the sin relates to the method of killing.

did you have on earplugs and a blindfold the first time you watched?

QFT

Seriously, you are mentally deficient if you can't figure it out easily the first time.

Abzurd posted in a spoiler on page five that "he killed them for their sins, not by the way of killing them." I knew that wasn't accurate. Someone else had already told me that the plot was about a killer who was committing murders for the deadly sins and his killing method relates. Some methods were obvious to me. I didn't figure out greed right away, but that came to me before too long. As for sloth, I can't figure out what exactly the killer did to him. What did he strap him down and just leave him there to starve to death? And why the sleeping pills for pride? Wouldn't cutting off her nose be enough? Then I got confused because he never really actually killed others for envy and anger. And if my friend hadn't been talking the first time I saw it, maybe I would have picked up on it.

In the end, a box was delivered to the field where the killer had the agents bring him. It had Pitt's wife's head in it. And yes, there were seven murders, but the last one was committed by Pitt.

The thing about this movie that made me so disturbed was when

The killer pretended to be a reporter and was taking photos of Mills at one of the crime scenes and Mills attacked him and pretty much told him everything about himself. Later on when Mills finds the killers apartment and sees the photos that were taken of him at the crime scene and he realised that the killer was the reporter, I would of said straight away to get my wife into protective costody because I f*cking told him everything. If Mills did that then the killer would have turned up at his house looking for his wife, only to find that shes not there and the ending would have never happened!
