Doesn't look horrible, but I can't imagine going to see it in the theater.

I'm a fan of the director after seeing "Moon", so I'd like to check out how he handles the big-budget business. Reviews are favourable so I'll probably check it out at the cinema.

Yeah, I think this looks worth a punt based on Duncan Jones, Jake Gyllenhaal and big action sci-fi. I'll try to catch it at the flicks.

I saw the trailer a while ago, and was confused just from that.

It's Deja Vu meets Donnie Darko.

I liked this. I'd say more groundhog day meets 12 monkeys, but there ya go!

The cinematography is really beautiful. Jones, or his DP frames shots in a lovely way. The composition of of some of the images is just breath-taking. I'm thinking of a simple parking lot overhead, which pans out to show a van perfectly placed between white demarkation lines - and that's Jones. The simple things done elegantly and well.

I like Gyllenhaal in it. He's engaging and emotive enough to carry the movie and watching him peel off layer by layer is enjoyable.

Michelle Monaghan and Vera Farmiga put in solid performances in this well-constructed and executed movie.

My only qualmlet would be that it kinda telegraphs various plot points [if you don't work out who the bad guys are at first glance, then I'd be amazed] and this movie deserved better than that.

Still, I enjoyed it plenty.

Saw this last night. I don't think it was very amazing. The concept was cool, but how it all played out was just confusing and I felt like it could've been explained a little more. Especially the ending. It almost seems like it was set up for a sequel...

Woo!

A smart idea along the lines of Chris Nolan's work, I really enjoyed how the plot was built around it. Could've gone into the idea behind the Captain's chamber, I think, but no biggie. Quantum theory and alternate reality fascinates me, too. Sweet.

Like Chips has said, Jones has that precision about every scene/shot that's so spot on. Everyone in the train was right where they needed to be, the characters moved and observed from all the right angles, and it was all perfectly natural.

Gyllenhaal was wicked, probably the best role I've seen him play. What starts as a confused man on a train builds to a confident presence who's great to watch.

Among all the great actors, Jeff Wright was one sore thumb that I couldn't put my finger on. I enjoyed his role in the Bond films, but this one just didn't sit well with me, and I have no idea why. Meh.

Overall, great film!

I just saw this last weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

It had that Twilight Zone feel to it.

it reminded me a lot of moon
the same little guy being used by the faceless corporation for means that are not actually malevolent, but that deny the little guy his rights and basic humanity
the same theme of whether it's ok to treat just one guy like this in order to foil a terrorist attack, or provide energy for the world or whatever.

i like this theme, because it's not black and white. which is why i didn't like when at the end they made the crutch guy just that liiiiittle bit too evil. made it too convenient to dodge the question a little.

but anyway, i hope this guy continues to explore this kind of stuff. i think this was actually a big step up from moon, and i can't wait to see what's next
