Houston has a legit shot at playoffs. I cannot see anybody in the AAC with a real shot at stopping them.

Oh man, I just like you more all the time, cpayne. I also hate ND!

I actually bought the SEC Network for the first time this year so I can be sure to catch all of my college's games.

I appreciate Notre Dame not making me wait until basketball season to choke against Duke.

and it looks like they've reached out to herman (good!) and art briles

i swear if they even bring that piece of sh-t in for an interview i will boycott them
4 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Monday 9/26/16 - 7:48:52 PM EST (GMT-5)
Herman would be silly to accept, I think. Houston is about to end up in the Big XII, if I had to guess.

LSU can get whoever they want
the big 12 is nothing compared to the sec in terms of money

houston is nothing as a program compared to LSU no matter which conference they're in

Not whoever, though more than most. I'm just saying, he has an easier path to the championship at Houston in the Big XII. Texas has great talent and if they were in the Big XII they could pull top ten classes also. If it were me, the money would not be worth it. Plus, Herman gets a fat raise if Houston enters a Power 5 conference.
4 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Monday 9/26/16 - 11:44:05 PM EST (GMT-5)
I bet the donors would cover that raise if it ended up being a sticking point
4 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Tuesday 9/27/16 - 12:01:39 AM EST (GMT-5)
He very well may be, I wouldn't be surprised. I know money isn't an issue at LSU. Just wouldn't leave Houston for it, is all.

you cray

I'm just saying, Miles was the best coach not named Saban that they ever had, and while he certainly had his flaws, namely offense, it's not impossible to fall back into the LSU of the 90s. Look at Tennessee post Fullmer, or even 'Bama pre-Saban. Saban being at Alabama was the worst thing that could have happened, because there was always a direct comparison to his predecessor who just happened to be wildly successful.

The chance to build a powerhouse in talent rich Texas, though not quite as great as LSU being the only major program in Louisiana, would keep me at Houston. I think championships, if they move to the Big XII, would be as achievable there as at LSU, given the buzzsaw that is the SEC. Money isn't the end all, for me personally.

I dunno if a new coach made the difference or what, but we just had our best offensive performance in ever

But yeah. Some kid played by joseph gordon levitt's deadbeat dad definitely promised to reunite the family if Tennessee won the sec championship
