Apparently it takes us 12 months to hit 1000 posts when talking NFL.

So, did you guys hear about Tony Romo?
7 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Monday 10/7/13 - 10:09:36 AM EST (GMT-5)
So the Broncos are averaging 46 points per game so far through 5 games, and the 2nd highest in the league is Dallas at 30, a difference of 16 ppg. (Yes, 16 is more than Tampa and Jacksonville are scoring per game)

You might not want them to break that record btw...
Hasn't turned out so good for the last few teams that have....
(2007 Pats, 1998 Vikings, 1983 Redskins)

Okay, how about this one: Denver has four guys on pace to go over 1000 yards receiving this year.
7 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Monday 10/7/13 - 10:29:17 AM EST (GMT-5)
It's an amazing pace, but without the hardware, it's just fluff.
Hopefully they can sustain it.

Here's a scenario for you that's a long way off, but would be interesting:

Let's say that KC and Denver keep winning, and both go 15-1, with a loss to each other. The first four tie-breaker rules would also end up in a tie, so then it'd come down to strength of schedule (Denver would have to hope that New England and Baltimore finish better than Cleveland and Buffalo, as those are the only two opponents that they don't have in common with KC).

Based on the current NFL rules, one of the teams would get the 1 seed (naturally). The other? The FIVE seed. And would have to open the playoffs on the road! And here's where it gets even crazier. Even if that 15-1 team wins on the road, unless the six seed wins too that weekend, then they'd have to go on the road to face the 1 seed in the Divisional round!

I don't think KC will keep it up, so we probably won't see that.
But, yeah.. Kinda like how Green Bay didn't want to see us in 2011.
Every Packer fan I knew was sh*tting bricks about that.
Also with us and the Eagles in 2008..they just had our number, and without Buress to stretch the field, the running attack wasn't as effective as it had been all year.

Yeah, I highly doubt it would happen. Even with both teams off to 5-0 starts, there's probably less than a 1% chance of it playing out. That said, I think it'd be hilarious how fast the NFL would change its seeding rules. You know that in 2014 there would be a "Each division winner makes the playoffs, but the seeding is based on overall record of all playoff teams" rule in place.

Another possible scenario that I always hope happens (not this year unfortunately) is a 3-13 team making the playoffs, and opening at home!

Nice. Everyone in a division going 3-3 against each other and then losing to everyone else on the schedule. That'd be friggin' awesome.

We've twice beat teams with 6 more wins in the past 6 years...why not, widen that gap s'more!?

What fun.

I bet in Falcons' practice the battle between the 0-line and the pass rush comes off as super competitive.

Take the 3.
Your guy goes for 4th downs way too often.

I figured at least Smith would call it after that PI.

Just kidding. Gotta cap off the worst first half in nearly two years with a failed run.

Oh hey the Braves are already losing 5 minutes into their game.

4 or 5 goal line stands against the falcons in 5 games

pretty terrible

I love seeing fans claim it will be much better with Jackson back. I'm a fan...but a realist. No one short of maybe Peterson could look good rushing behind that line, ESPECIALLY at the goal line.

Lesson learned yet? Guessing no.

I just remember the two from the wild card game in 2011. They killed your spirit, man.
Don't get me wrong, I get mad when Coughlin NEVER goes for it...but this guy coaches like he's a high teenager playing Madden.
7 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Monday 10/7/13 - 10:19:21 PM EST (GMT-5)
Maybe Coughlin and Smith could meld into a very angry heart attack risk of a coach that would create a few less headscratchers in the process.
